The Wild One

If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much. ~Mark Twain

catmilkWe seem to have a kitty (or is it a cat?) who hangs around our motorhome. The first time I saw it I figured it was a wild one. Now I know it is. We started feeling sorry for the kitty. Our thought was that someone dumped it in the area. That’s probably the truth. There are a few others around here but this one hangs around us. And, as you might guess since we were feeling sorry for he/her, we started feeding it. Well, actually, that was after we discovered it trying to get into Duchess’ dog food which was inside our closed awning room. Kitty was starved. Thus, a little food here and a little milk there started showing up when the kitten was around.

The cat would snarl at first when we got too close when it was devouring its meal. However, Terry has been able to scratch it’s ears while it eats. We don’t know the story and we don’t know the kitten. However, now that we’re pretty close to packing up and head south, we’re starting to have some concerns about leaving it to endure the winter here. My guess is that it probably won’t make it. Where we are currently at it gets cold and it snows! We could take it to a vet. However, I not sure they would take care of it. We could take it to the humane society but I think they would probably put it to sleep because it’s a wild cat. Of course, that’s even thinking we could even catch it.

Oh boy! What to do? What to do?
