Happy 14th Birthday, Sandi!
The weekend wasn’t over. According to the handout we had received from our RV park, there was one more market to attend on the weekend. This one was in Cathedral City. The directions were pretty clear and it seemed to be easy to find. Jerry found the location and the lot without any trouble. However, we discovered this market is no longer running on Sunday. At least it wasn’t in operation this Sunday. Oops …. we probably should pass that along.
The drive on Highway 111 through Rancho Mirage was gorgeous. I’m sure this is where the rich and famous live instead of Palm Springs. The roadway is at the base of the mountains. As we drove along we certainly admired some of the very fancy homes on these mountains. Even the shopping center in the center of this oasis was elaborate. It wasn’t a shopping center that the poor folk visited. That was evident. Many water features ran through it with benches and tables for relaxing. Quite a few cafes and restaurants were built around the area with lots of outside seating.
It didn’t take long to see that many classy people took their Sunday outing here. How could we tell they were classy? That was easy. It was by the clothes, the actions and the huge jewelry. Janice and I thought this would definitely be the place to people watch. We also wished we could age like some of these ladies but had a feeling that wasn’t going to happen. You could see the money dripping. I would have loved to have been able to take a picture of a few but that wouldn’t have been an easy thing to do without being really obvious. Oh well, one of these days I might remember to buy that lottery ticket.
I would love to see the money dripping - especially in my direction. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'll bring my catch basin for those drips. :)
