Well, it hasn’t happened yet. I mean we haven’t had the Jeep returned yet. Today is the estimated date of completion. The only thing we did discover is that the estimated date only means the date that the repair shop is expected to return the vehicle back to the service center sometime before 4:00. The service center inspects it before even calling us to do our inspection. In other words if it’s finished, we may not get the call today … even if it’s finished. We’re certainly hoping we do. It’s not that we don’t have a vehicle, we do. It’s the being stuck for the last eleven days that we haven’t particularly cared for. However, at this point now, we will probably just continue to sit here until after the 13th when Terry has a dental appointment. He thinks it sure beats the hassle of flying in for it. With all the Southwest Airlines flights being cancelled, it might be next to impossible to actually get a stand-by seat anyway.
On the road to nowhere
One advantage to being around a large city is that you have options if you need something. After the spill I took in Palm Springs, I definitely needed a new pair of glasses. When I tripped over a stake in the ground one night, they went flying and ended up pretty scratched. The price at Lenscrafters was over $100 more just to replace the lenses than at Eyemasters for a complete set with lenses and new frames. Those 50% off specials make a difference in the out-the-door price. At least it’s behind us now and I can see without looking through all the scratches.
It’ll sure be nice to get on the road again. Hitch-itch has certainly set in.
Sure hope you get your Jeep back today!! Glad you can see again. Sure helps when you're driving. Hot again today.
ReplyDeleteHitch-itch, we understand!
ReplyDeleteEyemasters is where I just got my two pair of glasses. They did a nice job and the price was way lower than the other places. Love my first pair of bifocal, polarized sunglasses.
