I guess it’s time to catch up a little bit on our Life on the Road. Sometimes it’s full of roses and other times sprinkled with lemons. That’s kind of like this last week has been. We’ve had some roses and also a few lemons.
We ended up keeping our appointment at RV Masters in Yuma. Actually, we’ve kept several appointments with them at their shop but still did not get our inverter issue resolved. With four trips back and forth to the shop, we’ve certainly got to add the cost of fuel to the cost of the upgrade work on the inverter. First of all, we had to have parts ordered. Then, the wrong parts were ordered, etc. etc. I’m sure you all know how that goes. Thursday was our fourth trip back to the shop to try to get the switch on the inverter connected to a remote. It didn’t happen. The wrong part was ordered …. again! They actually wanted to try ordering another part and wanted us to schedule another appointment to have it installed. Terry felt enough was enough was enough. I just hope next time when someone says they know how to do a job, they really
know how to do the job. So, $350 later we have nothing more than we had before we came to Yuma. RV Masters gets a “lemon award”.
It was also time to look for battery chargers to replace the two in the suitcase Southwest Airlines lost. If I didn’t do that soon, both cameras would be out of juice. The “generic” chargers at Best Buy were bulky and about $50 each or $100 for the two. Instead of purchasing there, I ordered two new ones from Amazon with overnight delivery. The cost for both of them plus the expedited service was only $38.00. These were ordered on Wednesday and received on Thursday. This was definitely a fragrant “rose” transaction.
We now have about 9 rigs in our group parked on the BLM outside of Yuma. Eight more are expected over the next couple of days. Wednesday afternoon we got together for our first Happy Hour. It was certainly a lot of fun to see everyone again. Friday is the seafood buffet!
Temperature is in the 70’s and the rest of the week it is forecast to continue being beautiful. Now if the wind would just go away.
We’ve also met up with the Pilot Knob’s BLM Host. In our opinion he’s one nasty man. The biggest sour lemon award of all goes to him …. However, more on that story in a week or so.
Amazon does it again!!
ReplyDeleteSo your inverter update is now tied with our furnace fix? Ugh!
ReplyDeleteSour lemons to the sour park host. And let's not give the Ranger any reason to come back either.
