It’s February and our air conditioner was running full blast yesterday. We even had it running quite a bit today. I think all this global warming has relocated to southern California where we are. People are complaining all over the U.S. about the cold weather and the snow. I can definitely tell you we haven’t seen any of it around here. Well, maybe we have seen a little snow. There is some sprinkled on the mountain tops that surround this area but certainly not down on the valley floor.
Gorgeous sunsets are not just limited to Texas and Arizona
Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday. That’s the day everyone is supposed to sit around with pizza and beer and watch all the great commercials on TV. Isn’t that right? Well, since neither of us are beer drinkers we didn’t do that. However, we went shopping to stock up on snacks because Jerry, Janice and Chloe were rolling into this park. We wanted to be ready with food and stuff. Three hours later we returned to a hot motorhome with a car full of bags and new neighbors.
We actually didn’t spend all that time shopping. We took another trip down to the Thousand Trails park five miles away to see if they had a special Super Bowl event. They did but we still opted not to go. After all, we knew the Hyders would be sneaking in soon. They did sneak in and we just had our own little party.
In addition to checking out the Super Bowl events, we also checked out the pool and hot tub at the park. We can hardly wait to wiggle our toes in the water. We have stayed at this park numerous times. We really, really like it. We just wish other people didn’t like it so much.
Back at the Elks in Indio, Jerry and Terry provided us with a couple pizzas. We ended up watching a few commercials and doing a lot of catching up. The boys watched the game while Janice and I did the talking and occasionally watched a commercial or two. I certainly didn’t think they were as good this year as in the past but maybe we missed the good ones. Just maybe we weren't paying as much attention to the TV as we had thought we would.
Game is over and tomorrow is moving day ..... again.
We too may have missed the good ones, because none of the ones we seen were too much to talk about.
ReplyDeleteHere in Miami, we too have been running our A/C every day. The nights are fabulous, sleeping with our windows open, we are right by the airport so planes are abundant but the weather is fabulous!
No AC here but the windows are open and it's just perfect. However, today the "cold front" comes through and we'll be down in the 60's for two days. Then back up in the 70's. I'm soooo happy.
ReplyDeleteGame - what game?
Although I am a die hard Pepsi drinker, my favourite commercial was the Coke on where the guard passes one to the other guard by changing the line of the border.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't watch the game but went online afterwards to see the commercials. :) I liked the guard one, too. And the junior Darth Vader one. Although I couldn't have told you what the product was for either one. :)
