Snow, Wind, Ice? It’s Not Here!

That’s not what we’re having here. If you look at the new picture above that I added, you can tell the weather is nice. I took it on El Paseo Drive in Palm Springs. It’s not hot. It’s not cold. Actually it is pretty close to perfect.

Not everyone can boast that they are experiencing the same weather we are. The north central part of the U.S. and the New England states are getting hit again with a massive icy blast. We’re thankful we’re not there. However ……. Terry is thinking he might just head in that direction. Matter of fact, that’s what he has decided to do but only if the snow and ice have already moved on out of New Jersey. That’s where he’s going.

We thought the stores and highways were busy in Yuma with all the snowbirds in town. Compared to Indio, it wasn’t busy there at all. With all the congestion in this area, we’ve toyed with just turning around and heading back to the Colorado River area of Arizona. Our trip into the Palm Springs area gave us a different outlook on the traffic. It wasn’t bad there at all …. just where we are.

If you know us, you know we always want to be fairly close to an airport if travel plans are in the works. We definitely need to consider that there aren’t any airports in the area we were thinking of taking off to so we’ve decided to hang around here for a couple more weeks. Well, not exactly here. We have to change parks on Thursday and we’ll be in a different area of “here”. There’s an airport close and we’re not quite ready to move all the way to Las Vegas until the end of February when the weather warms up just a tad.

We’d sure like to be in the Lake Havasu area when they put on their fireworks show. We’re going to try but not so sure we’ll be able to make it. That’s the plans but don’t hold your breath ….. as you know, everything is subject to change.

Not only did we visit Palm Springs, we also took a drive to Desert Hot Springs to check out Catalina Spa and Resort. They advertise two beautiful pools with hot mineral water. We hadn’t been there before and decided to take a look especially since that’s where our reservations are for the next week. One of the pools is set to maintain a temperature of 92 degrees!! That’s almost hot tub temperature.

P.S. One more thing we did but don’t pass it along. We made a stop at Home Depot and picked up a couple boxes. It’s time to clean out a couple bins and also under the bed …. again. Guess where we’re shipping the stuff to?
