Getting Back to Normal

DSC05458 Never kick a fresh cowpat on a hot day.

Terry made it back from his trip to New Jersey. It was long and he was tired but certainly glad to be back. I had stuck my little camera in his bag and he was supposed to take some photos of the kids and a few places he went. I don’t know much of the details but know they toured a submarine, went out to eat often, played computer games and watched movies. I guess that just about sums it up. Then, he visited a few airports on his way back.

I did get a souvenir from his little outing. He brought me back Bobby Flay’s Throwdown recipe book. I wanted that book and I’m excited to have it. I’m a big fan of the Food Network and just food in general. He said the hamburger at Bobby’s Burger Palace was fantastic. It sure looked good. You can bet when I head that way, that’s where I want to go too.blog2

Terry didn’t spend as much time napping on Monday as I expected but he was drug out most of the day and a lot of Tuesday too. I bet he’ll be up and running on Wednesday. Well, running might not be the best word. However, now that he’s here things are pretty much back to normal. Even Duchess is happy.

It’s been pretty hot in the Palm Springs area but according to Mr. Weatherman there’s only a couple more days of the heat left. It’s certainly nice to have a swimming pool close to cool down in. It’s amazing all the people you can meet on a hot day in a swimming pool. We had originally planned on heading to Joshua National Park to do some visiting today. Since the friends don’t have cell phone or internet service up there I’m not so sure it’s going to work. Either way I'll let you know later this week.

We've also thought about heading down the road and checking out Quartzsite. You know that place isn't going to be hopping as much in November as it is January. I bet there are still some RVs in the BLM land though. Many come south as soon as they can, stay as long as they can and then head north as late as they can. A few RV vendors are probably open by now too but not many. We went through that little town last November and it seemed like a ghost town compared to what we had seen before but it was still fun to check it out.

Today we'll probably just get my bike tire fixed, do a little grocery shopping and think about where we're going to go next. It's going to be HOT.

  1. First you went north too soon last spring then you went south too soon this fall. Are you seeing a pattern here? Maybe you need to wander more in the spring and fall rather than shoot right through?

  2. "Normal?" Strange word to use for your lifestyle. Now mine is normal. Hee Hee. Wind is howling through here today. Glad we're sitting still.
