I always know when we’ve been really busy running around. That’s usually when I have to check back on a previous blog to see what activities I wrote about. That’s just what I had to do with this. And, even though I’ve written blogs, I just haven’t done one on our current life on the road. Sometimes it’s hard to keep current when you’re running all the time. And, we certainly have been running.
We’ve tried out our metal detector but didn’t discover any gold. We were hoping for gold at the American Girl Mine but someone must have found it before us. We actually don’t know how the detector really works. The thing seems to ding all the time. Terry had to get out the directions when we got back to the motor- home to see if he could figure it out. There are a lot of washes around the mine. We’re thinking maybe we should get some pans and look for our fortune in the washes. Perhaps, the rain brought some down into the lower areas.
Jerry and Janice moved into the park where we are at. They’re right down the road. We even learned how to play Mexican Train. For card sharks like us, that was a switch. Well, we’re really not card sharks but we do enjoy card games and especially if we can take money from others. We've even practiced a little game of 31 since we know one person in particular tries to steal nickels from others playing that game.
We visited some relatives who are hanging around Yuma, made a trip to Best Buy, shopped at the 99 cent store, ate at IN-N-Out, discovered a couple future places we plan to go including Wild Buffalo Wings and a Hawaiian BBQ. We visited the local casino and decided to save up our cash before we go back. It’s win some and lose some. We’re no longer ahead but that’s how they want you to play the game. We played with their rules and didn’t like it much.
We’re now godparents. The Hyders have a new family member and we got to visit the other night. Janice said Jerry was looking for cigars saying “it’s a girl” but he hadn’t found them yet. They’re bonding with the new daughter, Chloe.
We have an appointment on Monday to have our inverter set-up switched … again. Terry still wants to add two more batteries but I’m not sure why. It’s not that we boondock a lot but he thinks they are necessary for some reason or the other. Not sure we'll add the extra batteries though.
Southwest still hasn’t located my suitcase. I hope whoever has it is enjoying the contents since I’ve had to replace most of them.
Check out our group map! Everyone we know is converging on the area!! Let the party begin!
Friday the swap meet was open again and we walked around, spent some money and left. Saturday we visited the junkier Park’n Swap. Terry used to like this one best. However, we were both ready to go after about a half an hour. There were lots of people and lots of stuff we weren’t interested in.
We took advantage of the dinner that was served at our park clubhouse both on Friday and on Saturday. Sunday we're also planning on taking advantage of the breakfast. That's one thing we usually do when sitting in a park ... take advantage of the meals they offer.
I’m just about as current as I’m going to get. Several people we know are arriving on Sunday so it’s apt to get even busier for a while. The weather is nice and we’re happy.
Hawaiian BBQ? Sounds interesting. I can hardly wait to meet Chloe.
