More Friends Sneaking Up on Us

hyders

Thursday we made yet another trip into the big city. How many times have we done this from Casa Grande? I don’t know exactly but as far as we’re concerned it’s way too many and way too long of a trip. We actually had a couple specialty stores we wanted to visit. Remember, it’s Christmas time and we have shopping to do. However, they didn’t have what we were looking for so we returned empty handed. The trip was about 4 hours long with nothing to show for it. Ugh!

While we were gone we had some folks sneak up on on us. The Hyder’s motorhome was parked right across the road from us! Yippee!! Even Duchess was happy to see them again. If you remember, these are the folks we went 4-wheeling with last year. Jerry’s the one who convinced me I didn’t want to be in the back seat when he was at the wheel going over all the sand dunes. They are also the ones who convinced us to ride to the top of the San Jacinto Mountains in a 360 degree constantly turning gondola. Going up I kept my eyes closed but finally peeked on our trip back down the mountain. Jerry also showed off by getting a hole-in-one on the golf course. Then, there’s Janice who owned several Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factories and only knows how to make 40 pounds of fudge at a time. In other words, I am certain there will be some exciting moments in the next few months with them around. It kind of scares me to think about it!

We discovered a Big Wa Chinese restaurant in Casa Grande. We had eaten at Big Wa in Chandler and loved it. Thus, this is where we went for dinner after stopping off at the Elks Lodge.

The Elks is a great organization plus they have RV parks throughout the nation in fantastic locations. Many of the lodges are right in the center of things where no other RV park is at. The price of overnight camping varies according to the lodge but it’s like using a Passport America membership because the fee is usually a “donation” and lower than most in any surrounding area. We park at Elks frequently. Our purpose for stopping this time was to get an application for Jerry to join. Now he just has to wait for his initiation in a few weeks and he’ll be all set up.

After dinner Terry and I went into the hot tub. It was HOT!! It’s rare to see a hot tub over 104 degrees and that’s even too hot. However, the one at this park was super, super hot. Terry just soaked his feet and I probably shouldn’t have gone in it. It took a while to get used to the water and afterwards, my whole evening was shot. It was just too hot and I felt the repercussions of it.

We’re still hoping to move into Mesa or Apache Junction but making a decision on where to move isn’t easy.

  2. Hope you've recovered from your "hot tub" experience. There are just some experiences we shouldn't have.

  3. Short sleeves with no jacket. I want some of that! But we are headed back to Alabama to wait for parts to fix some glitches in our house. I wish we were headed west instead. You all have a great time for us, OK?
