My mother
I recently read a post from a blog I follow. Her post was dedicated to her mother who died at the age of 51. I think we all felt our mother would be around forever but we also know they won’t be. Their days are numbered just like our days are numbered. My mom died when she was 66 years young. She was not only my mother, she was my friend.
She made sure I had lots of music lessons but I did not inherit her talent. She could play the piano, the organ and had an amazing voice. I can pick at the piano and organ and even on an accordian but you wouldn't want me to sing.
I wish I could turn back time. Even though we were very close and visited either in person or on the phone every single day, I still wish I had taken even more time to spend with her. She was the rock who held the family together.
So, even though she isn’t here to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to, she’s the one I still feel this day is all about …. my mother. Some 30 odd-years later, it still hurts and I still miss her every single day. Mom, I love and miss you!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting how we all wish we could turn back time. Right now one of Paul and my goals is to make as many memories with the girls as possible. We treasure more and more each time we are with them. We pray that these times together will get them through the tough times later.
