Sam’s Town Breakfast Buffet ... plus

sams1

Sunday turned pretty much into a day of rest … pretty much. Remember I had promised Terry a day of rest.

You have to eat though and that’s how we started the day. The Hyders suggested the breakfast buffet at Sam’s Town. Sam’s Town is another huge casino just down the road. You might have figured by now we really like the buffets. Usually you get a lot a food for a little bit of money.

Jim left Sandie at the motorhome and met us at the casino. He likes to eat too. The buffet turned out not to be a breakfast buffet but a champagne brunch buffet. I’m sure you know what that means. The first plate you have to eat breakfast. Then, when you’ve cleaned that one up, you’ve got to get another plate and fill it with lunch foods. The breakfast buffets during the week are ethelmadvertised at $5.49. That’s what we expected instead of double that. Since we hardly keep track of the days of the week anymore, we forgot about the price change on the weekend. We waddled out of there and then donated at their slots before heading back to camp. Well, now we’ve been there, done that and don’t need to go back.

The rest of the day was spent around the home front doing laundry and just resting up for Monday. It’s kind of nice every once in a while not to be running some place. We cooled our heels and hung around. That in itself is an unusual event for us.

Monday morning had another tour on our agenda. We were off with the Dixons to tour the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory and check out their cactus garden. A few free samples were available … very few ... but lots of souvenirs were for sale. We made it out without a purchase. It was just “okay” as prices were high. It’s a tour bus stop. Lots of folks were swarming around.

We hadn't heard of Ethel M. Chocolates. We discovered that is the company that makes, packages and sells M&M’s and products from the Mars Candy Company.

We still haven’t touched the fringe of things to see in Las Vegas. We’re working on it but have a long ways to go. That was the plan Monday afternoon. cactusWe were going to head to the Strip before meeting the Hyders and Dixons for another buffet later that day. The plan was to take advantage of the half-price special at Terrible’ s Casino since we still had coupons.
