Just because you have decided a retirement life moving around the country in an RV beats being stuck in a home on a permanent foundation, doesn’t mean everything will be different and you can become footloose and fancy free. Being back in Washington, we have definitely discovered that is the case.
Then, this is what I got from Lee and Sabrina!! They said I was worth it!! I spent the rest of the day figuring it out. I’m so excited! No more books to carry around and fill the motorhome’s shelves with.
I had a wonderful Mother’s Day. It started at the crack of dawn with a text message from Sabrina with her Mother’s Day wishes. She always gets up with the chickens …. and everyone around her does too. Lee barbecued the most fantastic and perfect steaks. We have never, ever had better steaks than the ones he does on charcoal with assorted wood flavors added to the grill.
This was a darling Mother’s Day gift from Michael and Sandi. We're going to hang it on the wall.
Monday came and it was a trip to the airport in Portland again for Terry’s return dental adventure in Phoenix. Then, a visit to my brother who recently moved into a retirement center and a stop at my aunt’s place who is celebrating her 92nd birthday today!!
Here’s a motto for you to follow … be sure you qualify for whatever you feel you do, before you jump into anything. Why do I say that? An aggressive associate assured my brother he qualified for a specific program prior to moving into their retirement home. He has discovered he does not. We need to find someplace else for him soon and move him within the next few weeks.
Just because we decided we wanted to hit the road in an RV, doesn’t mean the wheels don’t get bogged down occasionally. We’re going to be around here for a while. However, even though we have things that need to be taken care of, I’m sure we will find a few close places to “vacation” to.
But boy will you have fun on your "vacations" and hopefully not be bogged down too long. Sorry about your brother. That is really too bad.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things about having wheels is home is where you can go when the need arises. Hopefully, the needs will all be taken care of long before you are ready to move too far away.
ReplyDeleteI guess "Life" does continue to happen no matter where you are. Good luck with your brother and with getting out on the road for a few fun trips.
ReplyDeleteThe cute sign makes me think you might play Scrabble, but not so?
