Graduation to the U.S. Navy

Justin has actually graduated before.  His first graduation was in 1998.

Kalama High School --  If you are a Twilight movie fan, you may think this is Forks High School as shown in the movie.  Not so.  It’s Kalama High School and actually where the filming took place.  It’s also where graduation is taking place.

There are two nights of graduation festivities.  Thursday night the event was held in the auditorium.  Friday night the grand finale will be held outside in the stadium.  As Justin graduates from high school, he also has completed two years of college credits.  The Navy will be paying for the rest of his education in the form of an $80,000 scholarship under the G.I. Bill!

Justin has actually planned on a Navy career since early in his life.  As you can tell by the photo below, he’s actually been dressing the part (along with Jordie) for quite some time.

Next graduation festivity will be an Illinois event and take place in October. We hope to be there as Justin graduates from boot camp.

It’s hard to believe our grandkids are graduating from high school.  Can they really be that old?  Can we really be that old?  Next year it’s all about Michael.  The following year Jordan will take the stage.  Then, finally Sandi will graduate.  Four years and four grandkids will enter into the world of adulthood.
