One thing that is really great about blogging, about RV’ers and about travel is that you get an opportunity to meet folks in different places all across the country.
Lee and Loralie are part of our little RV group. However, we actually met them for the first time in Yuma earlier this year. We keep track of each other via our blogs, on a forum and we also email occasionally. They are originally from Delaware and traveling the USA in their fifth wheel.
We’re in the Pacific NW right now and so are they. It was only natural that we would want to get together for lunch at least once. That’s what we planned for Wednesday. Terry wasn’t able to make it but I sure wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to see them again. We met halfway in between at Papa Petes Pizza in Castle Rock.
It was a great time with great people. You can follow their blog HERE. Just maybe our roads will cross again soon. They’re heading out on Saturday to Sequim. We’re also going to head out but probably not until after Father's Day. Since we have another appointment around here on Thursday we won’t be able to go too far until after that. A little ways is much better than no ways. Our wheels so want to get on the move.
We’re not quite sure where we’ll head after Friday …. maybe Whidbey Island …. maybe Port Townsend ... maybe Port Angeles or maybe even sneak up on Spiker! Like I said I’m not really sure where and you know how good I am at erasing all our plans and making new ones anyway.
| Jordie -- the cutest one with the orange socks. |
In the evening it was off to Kalama High School to watch Jordie play soccer. They were having a practice game with the Woodland High School team. Only a few more days of school this year left for her.
I can't believe June is almost gone. We've been in Washington two months tethered to this area. After next week we should be free for a while. We have lots of things we want to do including fishing and crabbing on the coast. However, that's a July thing and a whole month away. I was born and raised in this area. Our kids were born and raised here but then we all moved to Texas for some twenty-odd years. Now they are all moving back. It's amazing how our view of the area has changed. Even though we've been back many times, we still see it with different eyes each time we come. If we ever put our wheels away, this is where I want to be. However, we really, really love the wheels. |
Must be nice to know where you'd like to settle down if that day ever comes. I wonder if we'll ever agree on a place?
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...when do those poor kids get out of school? When do they start?
ReplyDeleteI read Lee and Loralie's blog. Very good. Hopefully we get to do all the site seeing in that area next year.
